Tech Deals Of The Week: Audio-Technica Headphones Under Rs 8,000, Hogwarts Legacy At 50% Off

Tech Deals Of The Week: Good tech deals come to all those who wait. With the passage of time (and arrival of every sparkling new piece of tech) there inevitably is a decline in the price of devices, which might not be the latest or greatest, but are still darned good value for money. And our tech deals for you this week reflect this. Up for grabs are one of the rare Bluetooth headphones that even audiophiles will love, perhaps the best phone you can buy for under Rs 20,000, a terrific pair of TWS, and a magical RPG under such a discount that will make even Minerva McGonagall blush.

Poco X6: Best Under Rs 20,000

Available at: Rs 18,999 on Flipkart | Down from: Rs 21,999

On paper, a price cut of Rs 3,000 on a device priced above Rs 20,000 might not sound massive, but we think it is very significant in the case of the Poco X6.

It was largely overshadowed by the Poco X6 Pro at launch a few months ago, and its price point of Rs 21,999 placed it too close to devices that seemed better for a few thousand Rupees more. At its reduced price of Rs 18,999 however, the Poco X6 is easily the best phone you can get under Rs 20,000 by some distance.

You get a Gorilla Glass Victus protected 1.5k 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate, a decent 64-megapixel main sensor with OIS, a 5,100 mAh battery with 67W charging support (and a charger), all of which is being powered by the very Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor.

Audio-Technica ATH-M20x BT: For Budget-Wary Audiophiles

Tech Deals Of The Week: Audio-Technica Audiophile Headphones Under Rs 8,000, Hogwarts Legacy At 50% Off

Available at: Rs 7,990 on Headphone Zone | Down from: Rs 13,500

Audio Technica is considered almost legendary in audiophile headphones, and while its ATH-M50x remains one of the most popular audiophile headphones of all time, its ATH-M20x is considered to be a great starting point for those dipping their toes (should that be ‘ears’?) in audiophile waters.

So when the brand came out with a Bluetooth version of the same headphones in 2023, expectations were high. While the ATH-M20x BT did deliver some of the best audio we have heard in terms of sheer clarity and purity with excellent 40 mm drivers and typically sturdy ATH design, its price tag of Rs 13,500 was seen as being way too high.

The brand has, however, cut its price significantly and at Rs 7,990, we have no hesitation in recommending them as the best close to audiophile quality Bluetooth headphones you can get on a relatively tight budget. It is not just about the sound – you get multi-point connectivity (allowing you to connect two devices at the same time), good calling support and a staggering sixty hours of battery, with even a fast charge option.

Bassheads and ANC fans should avoid these though, and they don’t offer ANC, either.

OnePlus Buds Pro 2: Old But (Now Affordable) Gold

Tech Deals Of The Week: Audio-Technica Audiophile Headphones Under Rs 8,000, Hogwarts Legacy At 50% Off

Available at: Rs 7,679 on Amazon | Down from: Rs 11,999

OnePlus had taken the premium TWS plunge with its Pro series of buds a few years ago. While the Never Settling brand has released no Pro TWS this year, last year’s OnePlus Buds Pro 2 remain an excellent option, and are now available at a much lower price from many retailers.

They were honestly a very good deal even at Rs 11,999, and at Rs 7700 (sometimes even lower), they are a steal for anyone looking for premium TWS on a tight budget. You get the excellent sound courtesy of Melody Boost dual drivers,  with a slight bass accent, hi-res audio, spatial audio and even some special touches from the legendary Hans Zimmer.

The buds still look very premium (we prefer the black to the green), and come with premium level ANC (it can kill a lot of the sound in a crowded cafe), very good call quality and close to 35 hours of battery life.

Hogwarts Legacy: Digital Deluxe Edition- More Magic At Less

Tech Deals Of The Week: Audio-Technica Audiophile Headphones Under Rs 8,000, Hogwarts Legacy At 50% Off

Available at: Rs 2,649 on PlayStation Store | Down from: Rs 5,299

Easily one of the best RPGs from last year, Hogwarts Legacy was one of the most wishlisted games on Steam even before release. Once launched, gamers were delighted by the thorough focus developers Avalanche Software gave on the Harry Potter lore, going beyond just movies, to offer excruciating detailed environments and a world steeped in magic to explore and spend hours in.

Perhaps the most surprising perk was the amount of freedom players got – from choosing your Hogwarts House and the colour of your cloak to choosing your own combat (read: casting) style and even your favourite flying option (brooms, hippogriffs, and whatnot). You can replay this game multiple times and experiment with entirely new loadouts and of course, an ending of your choice (10 points to those how chose the Dark Wizard ending like me).

The best bit is, even if you are not a fan of the entire Wizardverse, you can still check out the game if you wish to lose days and weeks in a truly well-executed RPG.

At a discount of 50 per cent, the Digital Deluxe Edition brings an exclusive quest, a special Dark Arts cosmetic pack, and a special Dark Arts Garrison Hat.
