Team India won their first game of the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. They defeated the arch-rivals in a thrilling encounter at Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday, 23rd October 2022. The men in blue gave a good performance with the ball, and then the Chase Master, Virat Kohli, steered India to an empathic win.
Now, against an inexperienced side like the Netherlands, the Blues will want an improved performance that would set the tone for the T20 World Cup 2022. India’s bowling with the new ball was good.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh were good with the new ball. But Bhuvi’s form in the backend overs is still a concern.
The top three, Rohit, Rahul and Suryakumar, failed to get runs against Pakistan. They would want to do well against the Netherlands. Hardik Pandya played well in the first match. But DK couldn’t do the finishing act. He would also want some momentum before taking on the Proteas on Sunday.
India can rest Virat Kohli after his spectacular heroics on Sunday and give Rishabh Pant a chance. Pant will want to have a go against the Netherlands bowlers, and if he gets going, then that would be brilliant for India.
