The Bharatiya Janata Party had suspended national spokesperson Nupur Sharma after protests across the country and abroad over her controversial statement against Prophet Muhammad in a TV debate.
Along with Nupur Sharma, the BJP had also sacked Naveen Kumar Jindalmedia head of the Delhi unit, for making a similar controversial statement.
Some Muslim countries including Kuwait, Qatar and Iran had also expressed their official displeasure over the objectionable statement made by these two BJP leaders against Prophet Muhammad.
After this, BJP took action against these two leaders and issued a statement, in which it said that it respects all religions and condemns the insult of revered leaders of any religion.
