Reacting to the claims, Navjot Singh Sidhu’s wife Navjot Kaur Sidhu told news agency ANI that she had never heard about Tur who lives in the US. “I don’t know her. His (Navjot Singh Sidhu’s) father had two daughters with his first wife. I don’t know them,” said Navjot Kaur Sidhu.

Tur’s allegations against Navjot Singh Sidhu come at a time when the Punjab Congress chief is busy campaigning ahead of the February 20 election.

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia, who is contesting against Sidhu from Amritsar East, also reacted to the controversy.

“His [Sidhu’s’] sister held a press conference today. I am ashamed to hear what she said about Navjot Sidhu. A person who cannot be good to his family cannot be good to anyone,” said Majithia.

Union minister and BJP leader Gajendra Singh Shekhawat also reacted to the claims made by Sumarn Tur. “A person who cannot be true to his mother and sister, how can he be true to the nation,” asked Shekhawat.
