In the Model Town of Bathinda, Punjab, cuttings of 500 and 200 and 100 rupees notes have been found in a box of pomegranate which came from Himachal Pradesh. After printing the notes, they have been cut from the side. Police Station Civil Line Police has started investigation by cutting notes and taking possession of the box. It is feared that this could be a case related to the stock of counterfeit notes, as there is no currency printing press in Himachal Pradesh.

It has been told that in Model Town Phase-3, fruit seller Vishal Kumar had bought a box of 20 kg pomegranate from the fruit market in the morning. When he opened the box and started taking pomegranate out of it, he found a piece of paper weighing about 1.25 kg. There was cutting of notes in it. He suspected that these were five hundred, two hundred, hundred rupees notes. The pomegranate box from which this cut was found is from Himachal Pradesh. After this he informed the Bathinda police.

ASI Iqbal Singh of Police Station Civil Line reached the spot. After investigation, the police took possession of the box and the paper cutting of the notes found in it. The investigation of the matter has been started. On the other hand, SSP J Elanchejian said that the cutting of the notes has been taken over by the police. It is being verified.
