Basil’s service denied
The Sri Lanka Immigration and Immigration Officers Association said its members refused to serve former minister Basil at the VIP terminal of Colombo airport. “Due to the crisis situation in the country, it has been decided to control the Silk Route passenger evacuation activities till further notice,” the trade union said in a statement. Immigration officers also objected to Basil being served on the VIP clearance line. Even the passengers of the flight to Dubai had objected to his departure. Basil is being considered responsible for the poor economic condition in the country.
