The couple, who opted for a chic yet understated celebration in Mumbai, have now shared their thoughts on their differing religious backgrounds and the significance of their union.
In an interview with Times Entertainment, the couple described their interfaith wedding as a beautiful celebration. Reflecting on their relationship, Sonakshi shared that despite their different faiths, she and Zaheer are fundamentally similar, thanks to their shared core values. She expressed, “Our parents have taught us to be good human beings and believe in God, irrespective of whatever name you know him by.”
Zaheer echoed his wife’s sentiments, emphasizing that despite potentially having countless disagreements, none would ever be about religion. Sonakshi elaborated, revealing that in their seven-year relationship, their different religious backgrounds have never been a topic of conversation. She stated, “We both respect other religions. It’s never been an issue for us or even a discussion.”
The Dabangg actress noted that any controversy about their interfaith marriage existed only outside their relationship. She has learned to tune it out, as it holds no significance for her or Zaheer.
