For the first time in India, a combat helmet has been made for Sikh soldiers. It can be worn over a patka. This helmet is not only lightweight, but also anti fungal, and anti allergic. It has been designed by Kanpur-based Global Defense and Homeland Security Company MKU.
According to the company, the model of this helmet is: Kavro SCH 111T. It is named ‘Veer Helmet’. This helmet is capable of protecting the head from bullets and fragments up to Level IIIA. It also has a Modular Accessory Connector System (MACS).
What is MACS System?
MACS is a multi-accessory mounting system for head-mounted sensors and advanced combat equipment such as night vision goggles, cameras on the helmet, and communications.

The company said that the design of ‘Veer Helmet’ has been made such that Sikh soldiers can comfortably wear it over the cloth (patka) under their turban. The design of the helmet is bolt-free, to prevent secondary fragmentation. It is extremely comfortable. This helmet is shock proof and chemical safe.
First helmet for Sikhs recruited in Indian Army
The company says that this is the first of its kind helmet for Sikhs enlisting in the Indian Army. It is dedicated to the valor of Sikh soldiers, as Sikh youths serve in large numbers in the armed forces, central police and paramilitary forces.
Sikh soldiers can comfortably wear it over the cloth (patka) under their turban.
According to MKU MD Neeraj Gupta, “For a Sikh, the turban is his pride. The ‘Veer’ helmet from our company is meant to protect the lives of the brave Sikh soldiers. ‘It will not hurt their religious sentiments either.’
MKU chairman Manoj Gupta said that we saw the need for head protection of our Sikh soldiers. Despite contributing so much to national security, Sikh soldiers do not have helmets that can be worn comfortably to ward off ballistic threats. So we decided to make it.
