Sidhu Moose Wala Murder: Man Who Disguised As A Fan Of Singer Among 8 Arrested, Say Police

New Delhi: Several arrests have been made in connection with the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, said the Punjab Police on Tuesday, reported news agency ANI.

Among the people arrested was a person who had impersonated himself as a fan and took selfie with the singer and later shared information about Moose Wala to the shooters, the police added.

As per the police, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has also identified four shooters.

“Man who disguised as a fan clicked selfies with Sidhu Moosewala and shared information with shooters also held. SIT has also identified four shooters of Sidhu Moosewala,” the police said.

At least eight persons have been arrested by the police in connection with the case. The police says that these people had provided logistical support, conducted recce and harboured shooters of Moose Wala.

“Police have arrested at least eight persons for providing logistic support, conducting recce and harbouring the shooters of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, who was shot dead on May 29,” the police added.

Those arrested have been identified as Sandeep Singh, alias Kekda, of Sirsa, Haryana; Manpreet Singh, alias Manna, of Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda; and Manpreet Bhau of Dhaipai, Faridkot, reported news agency PTI.

Others who have been arrested are Saraj Mintu of Dode Kalsia village, Amritsar; Prabhdeep Sidhu, alias Pabbi, of Takhat-Mall, Haryana; Monu Dagar of Rewli village in Sonipat, Haryana; Pawan Bishnoi and Naseeb, both residents of Fatehabad, Haryana.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday visited Moosa village in Punjab’s Mansa district to meet the family of late singer and Congress member Sidhu Moose Wala.

On April 29, unidentified assailants shot dead Sidhu Moose Wala in Jawaharke village of Punjab’s Mansa district. The incident took place just a day after the Aam Aadmi Party-led Punjab Government had trimmed his security along with 424 other people.
