Aftab strangled his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar to death in May 2022. His body was cut into 35 pieces and kept in the fridge, later thrown in the forest.

The hearing in the Shraddha Walkar murder case, which was to be held on April 29 in Delhi’s Saket court, was postponed till May 9. Charges were to be framed against Aftab Poonawalla in the case on Saturday, but it was postponed as the judges were on leave. Now on May 9, the judge will decide the charges. On April 14, the court had reserved order on the allegations against Aftab.

At the same time, the Delhi Police had to file a reply on Shraddha’s father Vikas’s appeal to hand over the daughter’s remains. Vikas appealed to the court and said that he should be handed over the remains of Shraddha, so that he could perform the last rites of his daughter. On this, Special Public Prosecutor Amit Prasad had said that the Delhi Police would file a reply on Shraddha’s father’s application on the next date of hearing.

Shraddha’s father will go on hunger strike if there is no fast track hearing After the hearing of the case was postponed, Shraddha’s father has demanded to hear the case in a fast track court, so that he can perform the last rites of his daughter. He said that if the fast track hearing of the case is not done within a month, he will sit on hunger strike. He said that he does not think that this case will end soon.

Shraddha’s murder will complete one year in May
Vikas had vowed not to perform Shraddha’s last rites until she gets justice. He said in March 2023 that my daughter’s murder would complete one year in May, but I haven’t cremated her yet. I will perform Shraddha’s last rites only after Aftab gets the death sentence.

Vikas had told that my daughter’s body parts will be handed over to him after the case is over, but when the trial will end and when will I be able to perform the last rites of my daughter is still a question. On the other hand, the house in Delhi where Shraddha was murdered. The owner of that house had demanded from the court to remove the seal on the house. The court had asked the lawyer to apply for this.

Aftab was a trained chef, knew how to preserve meat: Supreme Court

During the hearing of the case, the Delhi Police told the court that the accused Aftab Amin is a trend chef, so he knows how to keep the meat safe. Aftab was arrested on 12 November
Aftab is accused of strangling his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar to death in May 2022. Later his body was cut into 35 pieces and kept in the fridge. Then threw them in the forest. Delhi Police arrested him on 12 November 2022.

On January 24, the police filed a 6,629-page charge sheet against Aftab in this case. During the investigation, the Delhi Police conducted narco and polygraph tests on Aftab, in which he confessed to killing Shraddha. In the case, the police recorded statements of more than 150 witnesses. The police had also recorded Aftab’s voice sample.
