Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Saturday took a dig at Uddhav Thackeray, saying good relations with the Center should be maintained to get development funds. Work is done on the ground and not online or from home.

He said that there is a need to keep aside the ego for the new state. According to reports, between 2019 and 2022, he was the chief minister in the Maha Vikas Aghadi government. There was often a tussle with him and the Narendra Modi government. Shinde said this in ABP Conclave.

The ego has to be put aside to deal with the center
Shinde said that development requires work on the ground. You cannot work online or through Facebook. A Chief Minister has to keep his ego aside while dealing with the Center for development funds.

When asked about the Shinde faction getting the name and symbol as the real Shiv Sena, Shinde said that Shiv Sena was founded by Balasaheb Thackeray. Most of the Shiv Sena MLAs, MPs, (former) corporators are with me. Without naming Uddhav Thackeray, he said that he betrayed the ideology of Balasaheb Thackeray in his lust for power.

Shinde said – We will not claim the properties of Shiv Sena
Shinde said that Shiv Sena’s ideology faced a betrayal when Uddhav formed the government with Congress and NCP, for which Balasaheb had asked to keep distance. He also said that he will not claim the properties of Shiv Sena. Also said that the legacy and ideology of Balasaheb Thackeray is what he and his supporters have cherished.

Uddhav broke the alliance with BJP in 2019
Uddhav Thackeray had broken his alliance with the BJP after the 2019 assembly election results, claiming that the latter had broken its promise to share the chief ministerial tenure. He then formed the Maha Vikas Aghadi with the Nationalist Congress Party and the Congress and ruled till June 2022.
