New Delhi: It seems that the business reality show Shark Tank India has found liking with the government-citizen engagement platform MyGov as the platform recently released a Covid-19 awareness message using a viral meme of BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover.
The meme shared in the platform has a photo of Grover with his viral dialogue on the show: “Bilkul bakwas hai yeh, aap band kar do isey (this is completely rubbish, please shut this down).”
The particular meme aims to raise public awareness amid calls for partying as many people believe the pandemic is over. “Without any ‘nau-TANK-ki’, let’s invest in safety and be the SHARK in containing the spread of COVID-19. Be responsible, stay safe,” reads the caption of the message from MyGov. The meme was used to spread public awareness around the pandemic situation.

Ashneer Grover, one of the popular judges in the show, responded to the message commenting, “Bilkul (absolutely) – be safe for now – let’s get over with Covid and then it’s party only.” Later the entrepreneur updated this on his Instagram page too, thanking MyGov for using the meme on him. “Soon there’ll be safer times to party,” he added.
The show comprises of six judges or “sharks” on Shark Tank India including Namita Thapar of Emcure Pharma, Anupam Mittal of Shaadi.com, Ghazal Alagh of Mamaearth, Peyush Bansal of Lenskart, Aman Gupta of Boat and Vineeta Singh of Sugar Cosmetics.
Since its launch in December last year, the show has garnered mixed reviews and also made headlines for mistreating entrepreneurs. Grover emerged as promninet face for memes after being aggressive on budding entrepreneurs looking to raise funding.
In fact, Grover became the talk of the town after the board of BharatPe announced that he was taking leave of absence amid growing scrutiny and pressure regarding his abusive language to a Kotak employee, a recording of which was viral online.
