Shahid Afridi’s Retirement Advice For Virat Kohli Ahead Of T20 World Cup 2022

Virat Kohli retirement: Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi often makes headlines for his controversial statements. This time he is in the news for giving a strange piece of advice to former India skipper Virat Kohli. Shahid has lauded Virat for his illustrious cricketing career but also advised that the 33-year-old legend should retire on a high rather than get dropped from the team.

“The way Virat has played, the start that he had to his career, there was struggle initially before he made a name for himself. He is a champion and I believe there comes a stage when you are headed towards retirement. But in that scenario, the aim should be to go out on a high,” Afridi said on Samaa TV.

“It shouldn’t reach a stage where you are dropped from the team and instead when you are at your peak. It seldom happens though. Very few players, especially cricketers from Asia Cup make that decision, but I feel when Virat does it, he will do it style and probably in the same manner in which he started his career,” the former all-rounder added.

Fans await Virat Kohli’s performance against Australia!

The Indian cricket team is slated to play a three-match T20 series with Australia from 20 to 25th September before the T20 World Cup and then a T20 home series against South Africa. This series is very important for Virat as he recently returned to form from Asia Cup 2022.

Fans are hoping for Virat to maintain his run-scoring momentum ahead of T20 World Cup in Australia. As per the stats, Virat Kohli does pretty well while playing against Australia in T20 International cricket.  Virat has so far played 19 T20 Internationals against Australia, in which he has scored 718 runs at an average of 59.83 and a strike rate of 146.23.
