Sasaram RPF recovered 48 turtles from Dehradun Express. Rail Hunt

Patna. RPF team has recovered a large number of turtles from Dehradun Down Express at Sasaram station. The market value of the recovered tortoise is being estimated in lakhs. It is believed that the tortoise was being taken to Kolkata. According to RPF Inspector PK Rawat, soldiers of Railway Protection Force Sasaram recovered 48 live tortoises in four bags from coach S-7 of train number 03010 (Rishikesh-Howrah) Express at Sasaram station. Two tortoises are about one and a half feet long. The information has been given to the Forest Department.

The team of Inspector PK Rawat, Sub-Inspector DS Ranawat, Sub-Inspector Prabhunath, Assistant Sub-Inspector RN Sharma, constable Ajit Kumar, Bansilal, Jaiveer and GRP were present in the checking. In the last five years, the RPF has caught turtle smugglers four times so far. Even before this, turtles have been confiscated at many stations. It is known that the tortoise has been sent to Kolkata in the trains going from Ahmedabad to Howrah.
