Renowned environmentalist Padmashree Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal and social worker Padmashree Vikramjit Sahni have filed their nominations for the Rajya Sabha. He has been made a Rajya Sabha candidate by the Aam Aadmi Party. On this occasion, Punjab government ministers Harpal Cheema and Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal were also present with him.

Sant Seechewal and Sahni are set to reach Rajya Sabha. AAP has 92 MLAs out of 117 in Punjab. That’s why no one has filed nominations against him so far.

Result will be declared on June 10
This election is being held for 2 seats of Rajya Sabha from Punjab. Today is the last day of nomination. Now the scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on June 1. After that, if needed, voting will be held on June 10. However, no other candidate has filed nomination from these seats. So Sant Seechewal and Sahni will be declared as winners.

Earlier, 5 seats of Rajya Sabha in Punjab also went to the account of Aam Aadmi Party. Among them Raghav Chadha, former cricketer Harbhajan Singh, Sandeep Pathak, Sanjeev Arora and Ashok Mittal of Lovely Professional University were sent to Rajya Sabha by AAP.
