Sophie Choudry reveals Samantha’s reaction to Oo Antava’s cover version, latter said, ‘You did a fab job’

A few hours ago, actress Sophie Choudry posted a cover version of Samantha and Allu Arjun’s Pushpa song Oo Antava on her Instagram handle. The actress crooned the Telugu song and she has been receiving compliments from industry insiders and friends. For that matter, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who featured in the original track, has also reacted to Sophie’s cover version of Oo Antava.

In an exclusive interview with, Sophie was asked about the best compliment she received for her cover version of Samantha and Allu Arjun’s Oo Antava. And that feedback came from DSP – Devi Sri Prasad and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.

Opening up about their reactions, Sophie said, “So many people messaged me. Samantha reached out to me, which was very sweet, saying that I killed it. One comment which was really sweet was ‘ma’am you come to South only’. DSP sir retweeted it on Twitter and that’s a really nice compliment. Because I have performed to a song which he composed with Mahesh Babu for a film. And I don’t think they realised I sing as well. And of course, they would never imagine I would sing in Telugu also. That’s a whole different thing. For him to say that I have done an amazing job, that was a nice compliment by the composer himself. And from the girl who is in the song. She (Samantha) even said ‘you’ve done a fab job’, which is really sweet.”

Before Sophie crooned Oo Antava cover version, she had even sung Allu Arjun’s song Butta Bomma from Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Since it was well-received by people, Choudry thought of singing Oo Antava too.

“And I really love this song – the Telugu version of the song and I adore the film. I am friendly with some of the family members and I know Samantha, who was just amazing in the song. I was generally chatting and I said I have to now try singing it. And she said to sing in Telugu and I said I will give it a shot. And it just sort of made me try it and I did it,” added Sophie.

For the unaware, Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna’s movie, Pushpa: The Rise, has shattered many box office records. The film has become a blockbuster in various languages.
