Russian invaders have lots of weapons but don’t have strength, spirit to conquer us, says Zelenskyy

In a video message released on Sunday morning, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the “Russian invaders” have lots of weapons but do not have the “strength” or “spririt” to “conquer” Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Zelenskyy has regularly been releasing video messages on social media to rally the people of his nation against Russian forces who invaded on February 24.

In the caption of his latest video message, he wrote, “The Russian invaders cannot conquer us. They do not have such strength. They do not have such spirit. They are holding on only on violence. Only on terror. Only on weapons, of which they have a lot.”

Further, President Zelenskyy said that the “invaders have no natural basis for normal life” and are “organically incapable of making life normal”. He said that dreams are impossible in all places that Russia has invaded.

“But the invaders have no natural basis for normal life. So that people can feel happy and dream. They are organically incapable of making life normal! Wherever Russia has come to a foreign land, dreams are impossible,” he said.

‘PSEUDO REPUBLICS’

In his nightly address to the nation on Saturday, Ukraine President Zelenskyy also alleged that Russia is trying to create new “pseudo-republics” in Ukraine to break the country apart.

He called on Ukraine’s regions, including Kherson, not to repeat the experience of Donetsk and Luhansk. Pro-Russian separatists began fighting Ukrainian forces in those eastern regions in 2014.

“The occupiers on the territory of the Kherson region are trying to repeat the sad experience of the formation of pseudo-republics,” Zelenskyy said. “They are blackmailing local leaders, putting pressure on deputies, looking for someone to bribe.”

RUSSIA-UKRAINE WAR

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24 and went on to launch strikes across the country. The war has triggered a massive refugee crisis and resulted in the death of several hundred civilians in Ukraine.

Ukraine has claimed that more than 12,000 Russian troops have been killed in the war so far. On Saturday, President Zelenskyy said around 1,300 Ukrainian troops have died in the war so far.
