TMC and BJP supporters clashed during an event on the 125th birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose in Bhatpara, West Bengal. There was a fierce scuffle between the supporters of both the parties.

Giving information about the matter, the police said that on Sunday, BJP Vice President Arjun Singh had come to attend a program on the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. During this there was a clash between the supporters of both the parties.

After the incident, Bengal BJP vice-president Arjun Singh said, “Today at 10:30 am our MLA Pawan Singh had gone to pay homage to Netaji, then TMC goons attacked him. They opened fire, threw bricks, on my arrival. They attacked me too, my car was vandalized and all this was happening in front of the police.”

CM Mamta Banerjee paid tribute
On the other hand, West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee tweeted and paid tribute to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his 125th birth anniversary. Mamata tweeted, “Tributes to country hero Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his 125th birth anniversary. Netaji’s rise from Bengal as a national and global icon is unparalleled in Indian history.

Mamta announced to celebrate this day as ‘Desh Nayak Diwas’ across the state. “We again appeal to the central government to declare Netaji’s birthday as a national holiday to pay homage to the national leader and celebrate Desh Nayak Diwas across the country,” he wrote.

Netaji will remain an inspiration for generations
CM Mamta described Netaji as a symbol of patriotism, courage, leadership, unity and brotherhood. He said that Netaji will continue to be an inspiration for many generations to come. “This year, a tableau on Netaji will be displayed in the Republic Day parade and other eminent freedom fighters from Bengal will also be included in it to commemorate the 75th year of our country’s independence,” the CM tweeted.
