Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale said on Saturday that the people of the country are troubled by the rising inflation. Therefore, the relationship between inflation and food prices needs to be seriously considered. People want food, clothing and housing to be cheap, as these are the basic necessities of the people. He said that today India is becoming self-reliant in the field of agriculture. Food is being supplied from our country to foreign countries. The credit for this goes to all the governments, scientists and especially the farmers till date.

Statement came after the imposition of GST on essential things
The way inflation is increasing in the country is really a matter of concern. Essential things for public interest should be cheap, but special care should be taken that it does not affect the farmers. The statement of the RSS general secretary comes at a time when the central government has imposed GST on everyday items like milk, curd, paneer, flour and rice. At the same time, the GST on some products has been increased.

Opposition parties are attacking this decision of the central government. Opposition parties created ruckus in Parliament. Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge said that the government is increasing the GST. Essential things are getting expensive. He said that it is being said from the Finance Minister that there is no tax in the open, there is tax on the packet. Hey someone tell me whether anyone brings milk in the open. Kharge asked whether he would bring milk with a lota. What will you take to get the oil?

Varun Gandhi surrounded his own government
At the same time, BJP MP Varun Gandhi surrounded the government for increasing the GST. He tweeted and wrote, GST is applicable from today on packed products like milk, curd, butter, rice, pulses, bread. In the midst of record breaking unemployment, the government is increasing the problems of the people. People are being ‘hurt’ when it is time to ‘relieve’ them.
