Rs 200 Crore Extortion Case: Jacqueline Fernandez Questioned Again By Delhi Police For 7 Hours

New Delhi: Actress Jacqueline Fernandez appeared before the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police for the second time on Monday in connection with the Rs 200 crore extortion case filed against alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar.

The actress was questioned for seven hours and was reportedly confronted with the testimonies of Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi and Pinky Irani, who was an aide of Chandrashekhar.

The actress last appeared before Delhi Police on September 14 and was questioned for eight hours. Apart from Jacqueline, Pinky Irani had also appeared for questioning on the same day. Irani reportedly introduced Jacqueline Fernandez to Sukesh Chandrashekhar.

Fernandez and Irani were grilled for hours and confronted with each other. The police reportedly found contradictions in their statements.

There were also reports that Jacqueline wanted to marry Sukesh. According to a news report by ANI, Sukesh Chandrashekhar was the “man of her dreams”. It was also stated by Special Commissioner of Police, EOW, Ravinder Yadav that the actress maintained contact with the conman even after his illegal actions were made public. The statement said, “There is more trouble for Jacqueline Fernandez as she did not cut ties with Sukesh Chandrasekhar even after knowing his criminal antecedents. But Nora Fatehi did disconnect herself once she suspected that something is fishy.”

On Thursday, the Delhi Police also said that they recovered a Ducati superbike valued at roughly Rs 8 lakh from Jacqueline Fernandez’s manager, Prashant, as part of their ongoing probe into the extortion case. “Chandrashekhar had gifted Prashant the bike on his birthday. Prashant said he had refused to take it but Chandrashekhar left the bike keys with him. The purpose was to get close to Jacqueline Fernandez. Still, as per his statement, he did not help Sukesh Chandrashekhar much. He said he never rode the bike. It remained parked and he asked Chandrashekhar to take it back. We have seized the bike today,” Ravinder Yadav, special commissioner of police (crime) told ANI.

Special Commissioner of Police (EOW) Ravindra Yadav also told ANI that Sukesh would try to influence the Bollywood actresses as he was having a huge wealth of properties which he acquired through extortion.

Apart from Jacqueline, Nora was also questioned by the Delhi Police along with Pinky Irani, a day after Jacqueline’s interrogation. She was questioned for around five hours.

Chandrashekhar was arrested for allegedly defrauding and extorting several high-profile individuals, including Aditi Singh, the wife of former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh.

In April last year, Chandrashekhar was arrested in another money laundering case linked to the 2017 Election Commission bribery case, which allegedly involved a former AIADMK leader among others.
