The CCTV footage of the horrifying accident that took place on the night of Holi in Haryana’s Yamuna Nagar has come to the fore. In this, a speeding car hit a 55-year-old rickshaw puller. After the accident, instead of stopping, the car driver dragged the rickshaw driver for a long distance, due to which he died on the spot. This incident was similar to an accident in Delhi on New Year’s night, in which some youths first hit a girl’s scooty and then dragged her on the road for 4 kilometers, due to which the girl died painfully.

The person who lost his life in the accident in Yamuna Nagar was named Rajkumar and he was a resident of Shanti Colony of the city. He was hit by the car driver at Rampura T-point. It is clearly visible in the CCTV footage related to the incident that when the car came out dragging Rajkumar and his rickshaw, sparks kept rising from the road during that time. Despite this the driver did not stop the car.

When the police reached the spot after getting the information about the accident, when they tried to trace the collision vehicle by checking the CCTV installed in the area, it came to light that despite the collision, the car driver had not applied brakes.

Rohit, son of the deceased Rajkumar, giving information about the accident.

Rajkumar’s son Rohit reached the spot after getting information about the incident that happened on the night of Holi. The family members together took Rajkumar to the hospital, where the doctor declared him brought dead. This accident happened just 100 meters away from Yamunanagar Civil Hospital. The prince had died on the spot.

According to Rohit, his father Rajkumar used to pull a rickshaw at night. He usually lived in Yamunanagar Civil Hospital and its surrounding area from where he used to get some ride or the other. Even on the evening of March 8, he left the house in a rickshaw as usual. At 12 o’clock someone called and informed him that a car driver had run away after hitting his father. He immediately reached the spot and took the father to the hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.

When the family checked the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area the same night, it was found that Rajkumar was going towards Yamuna Nagar in a rickshaw from Jagadhri. When he reached Rampura T Point, a speeding car from behind hit him. After the accident, instead of stopping, the driver fled from the spot.

According to Rohit, at the time of the accident, his father was returning after giving ice cream to someone in Jagadhri.

Police told the victim’s family – bring the number of the car

Rohit, son of the deceased Rajkumar, alleged that when he complained to the police after seeing the CCTV footage of the area, the Rampura police, instead of registering the complaint, instead told him to come after knowing the registration number of the car in which the accident took place.

4 children of the deceased, cancer to the wife

Rajkumar’s family is very poor. He has 4 kids and his wife has cancer. The prince was maintaining his family by driving a rickshaw and getting his wife treated. Rajkumar’s wife and son Rohit demanded that the police find out the driver of the accident and take appropriate action against him.

Police said – the allegations are false

Bhup Singh, in-charge of Rampura police post of Yamunanagar, said that the police took immediate action in the matter. Efforts are on to trace the registration number of the car from the CCTV footage. The allegations being leveled against the police are absolutely wrong.
