The United Arab Emirates did not condemn Hamas directly but said it was appalled hearing reports of Israeli civilians being taken hostages

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) termed the attack carried out on Israeli by the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas on Saturday was a “serious and grave escalation”, news agencies AFP and Reuters said in a report.

“Civilians on both sides must always have full protection under international humanitarian law and must never be a target of conflict. The UAE and Israel normalised relations in 2020.
