The Sukhu government of Himachal has provided great relief to the disaster affected people. Returning to Shimla after visiting the disaster affected areas and knowing the ground reality, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Sukhu had decided to provide special relief to the disaster affected people. The government has issued a notification late on Monday evening to implement the announcement of providing relief to the disaster affected people in Kullu, Mandi and Solan.

According to this, those people who have been deprived of their houses between July 7 and 15, will be given many times more relief amount than the Relief Manual. Under the earlier relief manual, financial assistance of Rs 12,500 was given for partial damage to a pucca house and Rs 10,000 for partial damage to a kutcha house. In view of the tragedy, the government has increased it to one lakh rupees.

Rs 3600 per bigha compensation on damage to agricultural land

Earlier about Rs 1400 per bigha compensation was given in case of silt in agricultural and horticultural land, this has been increased to Rs 5000 per bigha. In case of damage to agricultural and horticultural land, earlier financial assistance of Rs 3600 per bigha was given, which has been increased to Rs 10,000 per bigha.

In case of damage to the crops of farmers and gardeners in natural calamities, Rs 300 to Rs 500 per bigha compensation was provided, which has been increased to Rs 2000 per bigha.

In case of damage to shops and dhabas, earlier there was a meager financial assistance of Rs 10,000, which has been increased 10 times to Rs 1 lakh by the Sukhu government. In case of damage to the goods of the tenant, earlier Rs 25,000 was given, which has now been increased to Rs 50,000.

Financial assistance of 55 thousand on the death of milch animals

In case of death of cow, buffalo and other milch animals, financial assistance of Rs 55,000 per animal will be given, which was earlier Rs 37,500. In case of death of sheep, goat and pig, the financial assistance has been increased from Rs.4000 to Rs.6000. Earlier this compensation was given only for a maximum of 30 sheep, goats and pigs, but the state government has abolished this condition as well.

Government working keeping human sensibilities in mind: CM

Chief Minister Sukhu said that the government is working keeping human sensibilities in mind and for the first time in the history of Himachal, the compensation amount has been increased so much. The state government is well aware of the pain and suffering of the disaster affected people. He said that the State Government stands with all the affected and all possible help is being provided to them.
