Reports suggest that Real Madrid could be eyeing Liverpool’s academy talent, Trent Alexander-Arnold to the Los Blancos for a mammoth 70m price tag.

Real Madrid are on the lookout for a new right-back as Dani Carvajal enters the twilight of his career. The Spaniard will be turning 32 next year, causing Real to look for a natural replacement. According to Spanish media outlet Fichajes, Liverpool’s Trent Alexander Arnold is currently the prime target on Real Madrid’s radar due to his playstyle and unique skillset. They have claimed that Los Blancos will be willing to put up an offer of more than £70 million for the English right-back.

The report went on to claim that Real Madrid coach Carlos Ancelotti has also given the go for the signing of Trent. The Italian feels that the Liverpool right-back will be great for the future of Real.

In September this year, there were report that both Barcelona and Real Madrid were looking forward to signing the English right-back. Reportedly, they still have an active interest in the player and his international teammate Reece James. With James set to commit to a long-term future at his current club Chelsea, Trent has become one of the hottest transfer targets for many clubs.

Trent Alexander Arnold assumed vice-captain duties in the summer and has been vocal about living his childhood dream at Liverpool. There is plenty of incentive for him to remain on Merseyside and win a whole lot of trophies with his current club.

Trent Alexander Arnold’s current deal with Liverpool expires in 2025. The Liverpool right-back had signed a contract extension with the club back in 2021. It has been rumored that Liverpool are keen to renegotiate his contract and extend it even further, reportedly till 2027.

In his senior career for Liverpool, Trent has established himself as one of the most talented right-backs in the world. Other than being good defensively, Trent is also known for his unique skills on the ball. He is an excellent passer of the game with a natural flair for finding his teammates on the pitch at the right moment. He is also quick and agile which helps him get involved in both counter-attacking and building up plays.

Trent rose through Liverpool’s U18 and U21 squads to make his debut with the club in 2016. He was 18 years old then. He has made 287 appearances for the English club since scoring 16 times and providing his squad with an impressive 75 assists.

Playing under Jurgen Klopp for the major portion of his career, Trent Alexander Arnold won the Champions League in 2019, the Premier League in 2020, the EFL Cup, the FA Cup and the FA Community Shield. Having won everything in the top flight of English football, there are chances that Trent will move to Spain to achieve similar feats in La Liga.
