Ram Mandir Inauguration: Jamia Millia Islamia and its affiliated schools, as well as Delhi University have announced a half-day closure until 2:30 pm on January 22 due to the consecration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Official notifications from these universities released on Friday state that the varsities and associated institutions, centers and offices will observe a half-day on Monday.
It is important to note that all pre-scheduled examinations and meetings at Jamia will proceed as planned. Similarly, at Delhi University, interviews, selection committees and examination practicals scheduled for the day will continue according to the previously notified schedule by the respective faculty departments, as mentioned in the DU notification.
“The Officiating Vice-Chancellor, JMI, in view of the Government of India vide Office Memorandum F.No 12/7/2023 JCA government of India has approved that the university and its maintained institutions/centres/offices including Jamia schools shall remain closed for half day till 2.30 pm on January 22, 2024 on account of Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha at Ayodhya,” the notification by JMI said.
A similar notification was issued by the Delhi University uploaded on its website.
