Rajasthan to track migrants who were vaxxed in other states | Jaipur News – Times of India

JAIPUR: To ensure 100% first dose Covid vaccination by January 31, the health department has started surveying blocks in bordering districts, which have a sizable migratory population, working in other states.

The department has directed its officials in such districts to collect data by finding out the number of vaccinated people, who have migrated to other states.
“The count of a person is added to the CoWIN app to the district, where the person received the jab, irrespective of the state or district to which he belongs. So, a lot of people from our bordering districts have received doses in other states. They were added to other state’s achievements. We just want to know how many people from our state got the jab in other states so that we can have a clear picture of Covid vaccination in our state,” said a health official.
The health department officials said the bordering districts, which share borders with Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat such as Bharatpur, Sirohi, Dungarpur and Jalore are among the districts, which are at the bottom of the list of districts achieving the highest percentage of target of first dose vaccination. Jalore’s first dose vaccination is just above 82 per cent, Bharatpur’s above 83 per cent, Dungarpur 87.7 per cent and Sirohi‘s 89.2 per cent.
Besides, districts such as Jaipur, Bundi, Pratapgarh, Udaipur, Sikar, Chittorgarh and Hanumangarh have already achieved 100 per cent target of first dose vaccination.
However, Jaipur has achieved 104 per cent of the target and it is because persons from other states or districts got the doses in Jaipur.
Besides, the state has gained momentum in vaccination in December and it is maintained in January. “The state has achieved 95 per cent of the first dose vaccination on Saturday,” said Dr Raghuraj Singh, project director (vaccination), health department.
