Congress member Rahul Gandhi and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin are not happy with Sharad Pawar’s resignation from the post of NCP chief. Both have called Sharad Pawar’s daughter and NCP MP Supriya Sule and asked her to persuade her father to withdraw his resignation. According to NCP members, Rahul and Stalin called up Sule within hours of Sharad Pawar’s announcement on Tuesday.

NCP members said that both Rahul and Stalin wanted to know why Pawar had decided to step down as party president. He said that Pawar should think again about his decision. He said that after Sharad Pawar stepped down as president, leaders of several non-BJP parties said that Pawar should continue as party president till the next Lok Sabha elections.

On Wednesday, Pawar said that there was immense pressure on him to withdraw his resignation. Ever since 82-year-old NCP chief Sharad Pawar announced his resignation on Tuesday, party workers have been opposing his decision. Activists demand that Sharad Pawar withdraw his decision. However, his nephew Ajit said that Sahab’s decision is not reversible.

A day after the announcement of Sharad Pawar’s resignation, Jitendra Awhad also resigned from the post of General Secretary. After this MLA Anil Patil also sent his resignation letter to Sharad Pawar. According to sources, there may be many more resignations. And on Wednesday, a meeting of the 15-member committee was held at the Yashwant Rao Chavan Center in Mumbai. In this, there was a discussion about making the new president of the party. The names of Ajit Pawar, Supriya Sule and Praful Patel are leading in the race for the presidency.
