Radha Ashtami, celebrated on Ashtami Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada, is a significant festival for Hindus. Similar to Krishna Janmashtami, devotees observe fasting on this day.

Radha Ashtami is usually observed 15 days after Krishna Janmashtami. According to Hindu calendar, the Ashtami Tithi of Shukla Paksha this year will start on September 10 at 11:11 pm and end on September 11 at 11:46 pm. According to Uday Tithi, the festival of Radha Ashtami will be celebrated on September 11.
Married women usually fast on this day for progeny and good fortune. It is believed that fasting on Radha Ashtami erases sins and brings happiness and prosperity. Fasting on this day also welcomes Goddess Lakshmi into the home, fulfilling everyone’s wishes.
Many believe that Lord Krishna’s worship is left incomplete without honouring Radha Rani. Hence, Radha Ashtami is celebrated with the same fervor and pomp as Krishna Janmashtami.
