After assuming power in Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party government reduced VIP security three times. In the papers it was called ‘Strictly Confidential’. In fact it turned out to be an open secret. Every time the copy of Mann Sarkar’s decision became public. After the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, the government and the Punjab Police are under question over the security threat of VIPs.

If indeed the police took the security feedback correctly, then how was there a lapse in Moosewala’s case? Opposition parties termed it wrong to make public the information about the reduction in security. Despite this, the spokesperson of the Aam Aadmi Party kept making fun of him by talking about the status symbol.

Security of 184 VIPs reduced for the first time
The AAP government led by CM Bhagwant Mann took power in Punjab on 16 March. After this, the security of 184 people was reduced for the first time on 23 April. Man Sarkar and Aam Aadmi Party took a lot of credit for this. Named it to end VIP culture and keep a gunman for the status symbol. It also included former members and Jathedars of Congress and Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee.

Security of 8 leaders reduced for the second time
After this, the security of 8 leaders including Akali MP from Bathinda Harsimrat Kaur Badal, former CM Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, former Punjab Congress chief Sunil Jakhar was cut. 9 vehicles and 127 gunmen have been taken back from them. This information also came out and AAP made it a point of giving false security.

Tomorrow the security of 424 VIPs reduced
Yesterday also Mann government reduced the security of 424 VIPs. The name of Sidhu Musewala was included in this. Apart from this, apart from many existing ADGPs of Punjab Police, many personalities were involved. About which the whole report came out.

The Jathedars left the security in anger
Angered by the decision of the government being made public, the Jathedar of Shri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Harpreet Singh left the security. The Jathedar of Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib also returned security with him. He is now being guarded only by the employees of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC).
