In the FIR registered against AIG Ashish Kapoor and ASI Harvinder Singh, arrested in a bribery case of Rs 1 crore, the complainant is the DSP of Punjab Police. In such a situation, questions have now arisen on the fair investigation of the case.

Although the Vigilance team is interrogating the accused during the remand period, but before this, when the Vigilance sought the remand of the accused by presenting them in the court of Civil Judge Vaishnavi Sikka in Mohali, there was a lot of debate between the lawyers of both the parties in the court room. .

Clean chit in the investigation report of ADGP, DSP filed a case
Pradeep Singh Virk, the advocate of accused Ashish Kapoor, argued in the court that the DSP is the complainant in the FIR registered by Vigilance, which is not legally correct. SIT was formed in the case, in which 2 ADGP rank officers investigated and gave clean chit to Ashish Kapoor, but now DSP rank officer of Vigilance is registering FIR by falsifying the investigation report of ADGP rank officers.

Not produced in court within 24 hours of arrest
Advocate Virk said that as per the FIR registered, Ashish Kapoor was arrested at 12:30 pm, but the Vigilance did not produce him in the court within 24 hours, which is illegal. At the same time, the public prosecutor told the court that AIG Ashish Kapoor had taken 11 checks from the woman. Through these, he got one crore rupees transferred to the bank accounts of his acquaintances and then took out that amount and used it.
