Akali leader Bikram Majithia, who is trapped in the drug case, is lodged in this jail. Now after Jail Minister Harjot Bains, Sucha Singh, a close aide of Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Badal, has been posted as the superintendent here.
The special thing is that Shivraj Singh, who was posted here earlier, was removed for the reason that he was giving VIP treatment to Majithia. Now the question is arising whether the AAP government wants to stop Majithia from VIP treatment or wants to give it?

Harjot Bains, Jail Minister in AAP government had visited Patiala Jail 2 days ago. After that suddenly the jail superintendent has been changed yesterday. As soon as Shivraj was replaced by Sucha Singh, the secret of his closeness to the Badal family was exposed.
On March 1, Sukhbir Badal had gone to meet Majithia. After this, he stayed for some time at the house of the then Chief Welfare Officer Sucha Singh along with his MP wife Harsimrat Kaur Badal in the Patiala Jail Complex. Its pictures have also come out now. The same Sucha Singh has now been put as a jailer.
Sucha Singh admitted – close to the Badal family
The new superintendent of Patiala Central Jail told the media that he does not deny that he is close to the Badal family. He said that in 2003 he was posted in jail. Then Parkash Singh Badal and Sukhbir Badal remained locked there.
Being close to prisoners is not a big deal as an officer. So I invited him for tea. I can invite any old captive to tea. He said that I never asked for posting. The head of the department has entrusted this responsibility to me because of my clean image.
