Punjab: Man held for putting up fake post about sacrilege in Moga village | Amritsar News – Times of India

BATHINDA: The Moga district police has arrested a person on the charges of spreading fake news of sacrilege through a Facebook post.
A police officer said that the police verified the info from all the gurdwaras in village Malke and nearby localities and found that no such incident took place anywhere in village Malke as mentioned in the Facebook post.
Upon further verification, it was found that the Facebook gage and the account through which the page was being operated belonged to one Gurdeep Singh of village Lopon.
An FIR has been registered at Badhni Kalan police station in this regard.
Gurdeep Singh has been arrested and further investigations are being done, said the officer.
