Punjab: Ludhiana reports 569 Covid-19 cases, one death | Ludhiana News – Times of India

LUDHIANA: Ludhiana on Sunday reported 569 Covid-19 cases among which 509 were reported from the district. The city reported one death as well.
In the meanwhile, two patients, whose genome report was received, tested positive for Omicron variant. On Saturday 610 persons, 561 from the district had tested positive for the disease.
As per the health bulletin, one person from Ludhiana died of Covidon Sunday. The deceased was 44-year-old male of Basti Jodhewal who was admitted at CMC.
Meanwhile, health department officials said that with one death from Ludhiana, the total number of deaths of the district has increased to 2,121 whereas 1,066 out of district/state deaths have been reported in Ludhiana hospitals till now.
Health department said that till date 30,35,487 suspects have been tested for Covid in Ludhiana District. It added that of the 509 cases from Ludhiana, 55 were contacts of positive patients, 43 were from OPD, 265 were from Flu corner with Influenza Like Illness, 47 were healthcare workers, ANC 1, 95 patients were being traced, one was a police personnel and 2 were international travellers from UK. 60 persons from other area tested positive for the disease on Sunday.
Local health department officials said that till Sunday, total number of patients from Ludhiana district was 89,933, whereas the number of cases from outer districts/states increased to 12036.
Civil Surgeon said that till now 85,669 Covid positive patients have recovered in Ludhiana district which constitutes 95.26% of the total cases.
