Punjab: Ludhiana district reports 11 Covid-19 deaths, 932 cases | Ludhiana News – Times of India

LUDHIANA: Eleven persons, including eight from Ludhiana city, died of Covid-19, as 932 persons tested positive for the infection in the district on Sunday.
A day before, 10 persons had died of Covid and 1,032 persons had tested positive.
As per the health bulletin, the 11 deceased included a 70-year-old female from Kot Mangal Singh |, a 57-year-old male from Bindra Colony, a 68-year-old male from Burj Hari Singh |, a 52-year-old male from Giaspura, a 17-year-old male of Near Chand Cinema, a 75-year-old male of Model Gram, a 45-year-old male of Dhandari Kalan, a 70-year-old male of Dhandran road whereas one deceased person each was from Barnala, Kapurthala and Jalandhar districts.
The total number of deaths in the district increased to 2,178 whereas 1,089 out of district/state deaths have been reported in Ludhiana hospitals till now.
The health department said that till date 31,27,216 suspects have been tested for Covid in Ludhiana district. It added that while 836 cases were from Ludhiana, 96 persons from other areas tested positive for the infection on Sunday.
Local health department officials said that till Sunday, the total number of patients from Ludhiana district was 1,04,414 whereas the number of cases from outer districts/states increased to 13,637.
A civil surgeon said that till now 94,868 Covid positive patients have recovered in Ludhiana district which constitutes 90.86 per cent of the total cases.
