In countries where the concept of opening office early in the morning, there is more work efficiency

We probably got the concept of working from 9 am to 5 pm from the British. Due to the weather there, work cannot start soon. But in Japan work is from 6 am to 2 pm. Time flexibility is there for everyone except security agencies in USA. Office till 3 pm. The time in Amsterdam Netherlands is from six to two o’clock. That’s why the work efficiency is more there. The concept of Punjab’s 7:30 am was very good. Its biggest benefit was to the common people. The road which used to take an hour in traffic was covered in 15 minutes. It was good in terms of traffic management. In foreign countries, people prefer to go to office by bicycle. This also gets rid of jam.

There is no time restriction in foreign countries, instead of public dealing, all work is done online.

This timing is successful in foreign countries because the infrastructure there is much better and instead of public dealing, all the work is done online. There is no restriction of time and office anywhere. There you get a job on the basis of work and on the basis of performance. There in government job you get both return and salary cut on this basis. There is no assessment of work in government offices in our country. Most of the work still depends on the speed of the file. However, in our country, in private companies, everything is always decided on the basis of performance. Work should be output oriented rather than time oriented.

It is right to hasten office timings to increase traffic management, work efficiency

This concept of the Punjab government should be further developed. This is a better use of infrastructure in a way which is also adopted abroad. This concept will be found in traffic management in Noida, Bangalore and Hyderabad. The commuting lane is the most used during office hours in the morning. Time management leads to better management of infrastructure and human resources. For this reason, the concept adopted in Punjab for two and a half months was very good. In our feedback, common people were more than happy with it. You remain fresh in the morning. Your working gets better. This should happen not only for Punjab but also in Chandigarh. Offices should have different timings.
