Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab chief minister-designate, announced on Monday that he will quit as a member of parliament. He has served in the Lok Sabha twice, representing the state’s Sangrur parliamentary constituency. During his last parliamentary visit, he said, "Many thanks to the people of Sangrur who have shown me so much kindness over the years.
