Usually there is desolation here, only a few people are seen, but for a few days officers’ vehicles are moving in and out every 10 minutes at the gate of Kuno National Park in Sheopur. More than the arrival of the cheetahs, there is a stir about the fact that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the cages of these cheetahs on his birthday on September 17.

The question is, is the security of the Prime Minister not threatened by this fastest running animal of the forest? You must be thinking that the Prime Minister will be under the siege of the commandos of the Special Protection Group. You are thinking absolutely right, but there is one more thing, which gives full guarantee of the security of the Prime Minister. That is, cheetahs never attack humans., Uttam Sharma, CCF of Kuno National Park says that Till date, there has not been a single case in the world in which cheetahs have attacked humans.

Perhaps for this reason, the security agencies have agreed to the landing of PM Modi in the middle of this 744 square kilometer forest to give the gift of cheetahs to the country. The rest of the protocols for their safety will remain the same.

One more thing… This event of releasing these African cheetahs into the wild to adjust to the weather, which landed on the country’s soil after 70 years, will be among a very limited number of people. During that time only the selected VIPs, senior officers of the forest department and security personnel will be there. You will be able to admire this scene only with the help of cameras.

  • There are 5 helipads within 18 km from the Tiktauli Gate of the park. 3 helipads are reserved for the Prime Minister and the helicopters that came for his security. From here, within a radius of 500 meters, there will be a platform like platform 10 feet high. It has limited VIP entry.
  • The height of PM Modi’s platform will be 10 to 12 feet. Apart from the PM, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Forest Minister and Forest Minister of Madhya Pradesh will be on the stage. There will be cheetahs in a cage of 6 feet just below this platform.
  • At a distance of 50 feet from the platform, there is a quarantine center for cheetahs in the enclosure.
  • On September 17, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the gate of the cheetah cage by turning the lever handle at exactly 12.05 am. The cages will have sliding gates, which will open as the lever is turned.
  • After a few minutes of walking, the cheetahs will be in the Quarantine Center in front.

PM Modi will release the cheetahs by rotating the pulley
During the arrival of the PM, the gate of the cage in which the cheetahs will be kept will open towards the side. If the PM turns the pulley, the gate will open. The release of the cheetahs will be broadcast live. PM Modi himself will leave two male and one female cheetahs in the coons. Pulley will be mechanical not electronic. Earlier there was a preparation to release the cheetah via remote.

India may get 12 more cheetahs
Excited by Prime Minister Modi’s visit to release cheetahs in Kuno, we asked Forest Minister Vijay Shah – how many cheetahs are coming? He said- It has been agreed to bring 8 cheetahs from Namibia. The South African team has also gone after seeing the atmosphere of Kuno. If approval is received from the President of South Africa in the next one or two days, then 12 more cheetahs will be found. Although 8 is sure to come. There will be 5 males and 3 females. Everyone will go to different cages. Even after the arrival of Kuno, the male and female cheetahs will be kept separately. Two male cheetahs will be kept together, but the female cheetah will remain the same in the Quarantine Center.

jaipur land will be a special plane of cheetahs
On September 16, these cheetahs will be sent from Africa by a special plane. So far it has been told that they will land directly in Jaipur. After this, they will be landed directly in the middle of Kuno National Park by Air Force helicopter. Helipads for cheetah helicopters are already ready here. Forest Minister Shah said that cheetahs will reach Kuno just 4 hours before the arrival of the Prime Minister, that is, at 8 in the morning, there will be an influx of cheetahs in the Kuno National Park. By the time PM Modi opens their cages, they will adjust a bit to the climate of Kuno.

Cheetahs will be kept in 6 quarantine centers
Chief Conservator of Forests Uttam Sharma says – These cheetahs will be kept in Quarantine for the first one month. For this, 6 quarantine centers have been set up. Male cheetahs and female cheetahs will be kept separately in the Quarantine Center.

The doctors of wild animals will continuously monitor their health. Cheetals and other small creatures will be served to cheetahs in these quarantine centers. If all goes well after a month, they will be released in a second level enclosure spread over 500 hectares. Its area will be 500 hectares i.e. about 1250 acres. Here they will be able to walk, but will not be able to make long jumps.

Cheetahs can get forest in December
The National Parks are open to the general public from 1 October. Till then their quarantine period will not be completed. In such a situation, it is difficult at the moment that you can see them even by taking a ticket. There may be some scope when they shift to the 500-hectare enclosure in the second-third week of November, but the park management will take a decision in this regard only after seeing their behaviour. They will probably be released in open forests in December. Then you will be able to see them during jungle safari.

Cheetah friends are being told the difference between a leopard and a cheetah
