Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting with the Chief Ministers of all the states has started. The Prime Minister is interacting with the Chief Ministers through video conferencing regarding the latest situation arising out of Corona virus in the country.

Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had an emergency meeting. In this meeting done through video conferencing, PM Modi asked to speed up the vaccine drive of children. Modi directed that the states where more cases of corona are coming, those states should be given technical support.

Active cases have doubled in the country in four days

During the last four days in the country, the number of active cases i.e. patients undergoing treatment has more than doubled. At present, there are more than 11 lakh active patients in the country. On Wednesday alone, 2 lakh 45 thousand 525 new corona infected were found, which was 52 thousand more than the 1.93 lakh new cases found on Tuesday.

This is the first time in the third wave to get more than 2 lakh cases during 24 hours and the total active cases have crossed 10 lakh. The total active cases touched 1 lakh on 6 January and 5 lakh on 8 January. In this sense, active cases have increased more than double in just four days. An increase of 1 lakh 60 thousand 667 has been registered on Wednesday alone. At present, 11.09 lakh corona infected are being treated in the country.

8 states in the country are giving real concern
Earlier, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health, Lav Aggarwal said on Wednesday that in the third wave, 8 states are troubled, where the Kovid positivity rate is high. These states are Maharashtra, Bengal, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala and Gujarat. Among them, Bengal has the highest positivity rate of 32.18%. This is followed by Delhi at 23.1% and Maharashtra at 22.39%. The electoral state Uttar Pradesh has a positivity rate of 5.71%. The weekly positivity rate is more than 5% in about 300 districts of the country.
