Senior Akali leader NK Sharma giving details of expenditure on Mohalla clinics quoting RTI Act.

There has been a political uproar over the Aam Aadmi Clinic (Mohalla Clinic) of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government starting from August 15 in Punjab. The Akali Dal alleged that the Seva Kendra building was already built. The government spent 18 lakhs on its dyeing and painting.

This claim is being made from the information taken under the RTI Act. The Akali Dal has demanded a Central Investigation Agency (CBI) probe into this expenditure. On the other hand, AAP government’s Higher Education Minister Gurmeet Meet Hare showed the photos of the desolated buildings of the service centers and said that what is the harm in using them?.

Expenses of Mohalla Clinics smell of corruption: NK Sharma
Senior Akali leader NK Sharma said that 2700 service centers were opened under his government. Through which people were given the benefit of 72 government services near their homes by eliminating corruption. The Congress government came and shut them down. The new government converted the service centers into Aam Aadmi Clinics for the publicity of the party. Now Rs 96 lakh has been spent on the renovation of 5 service centers. Spent 20 lakhs only on denting-painting. Only Aam Aadmi Clinic was written outside and some chairs would have been installed inside. This smacks of corruption.

Service centers made of 414 crores were closed: Minister Meet Hare
State Higher Education Minister Gurmeet Meet Hare said that not a single operational service center has been closed. In the past, around 1600 service centers were closed. 414 crore rupees were owed to the people of Punjab on him. These service centers were created without the need for commissioning. Now we used them so what’s wrong? When new ones were made, they had to be made with people’s money. We are not greedy for commission, who would build new buildings.
