According to the ADR report, when Corona was at its peak in the financial year 2020-21, during that time a total of 593.748 crores have been donated to political parties. In this, BJP alone has received 477.545 crore donations. That is, the BJP has received more than 80 percent of the donations, which is 4 times more than the donations received by 6 national political parties (NCP, CPI, CPI(M), Congress, NPE and Trinamool).

3753 donated more than 20 thousand

The ADR report states that 3753 individuals and establishments have donated more than 20 thousand rupees in 2020-21. Out of these 2206 have donated to BJP. At the same time, 1077 individuals and establishments have donated Rs 74.524 crore to the Congress party, which is about 15 percent as compared to the BJP.

79 people and establishments have donated more than 20 thousand rupees to NCP, 226 to CPM, 124 to CPI, 15 to NPEP and 26 to AITC have donated more than 20 thousand.

The Election Commission of India has made it mandatory for all parties to give details of income and expenditure. Except the Bahujan Samajwadi Party, no party shared this information with the Election Commission in the stipulated time. According to the ADR, Congress has given income statement late by 10 days, while All India Trinamool Congress is late by 117 days, CPI(M) 136 days, National People Party 137 days, Indian National Party 161 days, Bharatiya Janata The party has given details after 164 days and CPI after 178 days.

Prudent Electoral Trust gave 209 crores to BJP

1111 corporate houses have donated Rs 416.794 crore to BJP while 146 corporate houses have donated to Congress. Prudent Electoral Trust is the country’s top corporate house giving donations to political parties. This trust has donated 209 crores to BJP, 5 crores to NCP and 2 crores to Congress.
