Haryana Police took major action against MBBS students sitting on dharna ahead of Haryana CM Manohar Lal and Governor Bandaru Dattatreya’s visit to Rohtak. Water cannons were used on the students at 2 pm to end the strike. Along with this, he was forcibly sent to Rohtak PGI after being surrounded by buses. The students said that the students were also badly treated by the police.

According to the students, around 200 students, including girls, were surrounded by the police around 2 am. They were later taken from the PGI premises in police buses. This action of police is condemnable. A student said that the policemen used water cannons and then started dragging the students sitting on the dharna towards the buses.

Action a few hours before CM tour
The police action came hours before the Governor, CM and Home Minister visited the convocation ceremony of Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences at the PGI campus. The venue of the convocation is a short distance away from the place where the students have been protesting for the past four days.

Case filed against students
According to Rohtak police some MBBS students who were protesting have been arrested. Also, an FIR has been registered against them, while some students have been detained as a precaution. According to the police, they tried to persuade the students not to protest near the auditorium, but they remained adamant. Therefore, he had to be arrested in custody.
