Police arrest bride in wedding dress in northern town as wanted groom flees

Police detained a bride at her wedding Sunday in the town of Arraba in the Lower Galilee, as they came to arrest the groom.

Footage from the scene showed cops escorting the woman in her white wedding gown into a car.

Police said the groom, suspected of holding a weapon illegally, had broken a restraining order to stay out of the town in order to attend his wedding.

Officials said the bride and several other people were suspected of helping the groom run away from the event as officers came to take him in.

“They ruined the happiest day of my life,” the bride told Channel 12. “As for the suspicions, I don’t know what they’re talking about.”

The groom is still missing.
