PM Modi chaired a meeting with his council of ministers, emphasising the importance of effectively communicating and implementing policies, particularly those benefiting women, the poor, farmers, and youth.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday chaired a meeting with his council of ministers at the Sushma Swaraj Bhavan in New Delhi.
During the meeting, which lasted more than five hours, the Prime Minister elaborated on presentations and urged ministers and bureaucrats to hold extensive consultations to ensure the effective rollout of policies, particularly social initiatives aimed at alleviating the problems faced by women and the poor.
Speaking at the meeting for nearly 40 minutes, PM Narendra Modi stressed that his government has a proven track record of undertaking new projects, from laying its foundation to implementation, and said the same pace should continue.
According to a Network 18 source aware of the development, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of communicating the decisions taken by the government, and its impact, to the people of the country, through social media.
PM Modi also credited all his colleagues for giving him the strength to ensure the welfare of the people of the country.
“Aap sab ka saath hai, jisse maine janta ko ek baar phir bharosa diya hai,” PM Modi told his council of ministers, also stressing that his government is clear in its vision, not only up to 2029, but up to 2047, when they aspire to make India a developed nation, ‘Viksit Bharat’.
PM LISTS FOUR IMPORTANT PILLARS
While a detailed presentation was made on the budget schemes and their implementation, the Prime Minister spoke about his four main focus areas – gyan (information), gareeb (poor), yuva annadata (farmers) and naari (women).
He also said that the last budget held enough for these listed four important pillars and that the same message must be sent to the people of the country.
Further, the Prime Minister asked his cabinet colleagues to come up with more ideas for the cause of the development of women in the country.
The ministers were also asked to cascade the decisions of this government to the people of the country.
It was learnt that the Prime Minister, on September 5, will celebrate 10 years of many schemes launched by him.
At the meeting, outgoing cabinet secretary, Rajiv Gauba, presented the top 73 decisions made by the government in the first 85 days of coming to power. There was also a presentation on the health and education sectors, along with one on the infrastructure projects across the country.
As the meeting concluded, the Prime Minister jokingly addressed the difficulty some of the new members in the meeting would face when asked to sit for so long. He, however, said his colleagues would soon adapt to such a ‘non-stop’ working style.
This was the first meeting the Prime Minister chaired with his council of ministers, after coming to power for a third term.
The last council meeting was held before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, wherein Prime Minister Modi had asked his cabinet colleagues to come up with a plan for the first hundred days, and then for the next five days.
