Pixel Watch 2’s Launch Date Leaked. Everything You Should Know

With Google set to host its annual I/O conference this week, a new report by 9to5Google, citing sources has said that the next edition of Google Pixel Watch will be unveiled later this year along with the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. This comes days ahead of the launch of the Pixel 7a, the Pixel Fold and the purported Pixel Tablet on May 10. The Google Pixel 7a will be available in India a day later, on May 11, the tech giant has already confirmed.

The 9to5Google report says, citing to a source, the Pixel Watch 2 (which may not be the final name) but would match the naming scheme for phones, is currently scheduled to launch alongside the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Google historically announces and then releases its flagship phones in October. Apple too, traditionally unveils its iPhone lineup in September every year.

The first iteration of Pixel Watch was unveiled at the Google I/O developer conference in 2022 after a prototype was left at a restaurant a month ago and its images were heavily circulated by tipsters. However, the final product launched by Google in May 2022 ended up looking much better than the leaked pictures.

Quandt has posted images of the upcoming Pixel 7a and a spec sheet that draws a comparison between last year’s Pixel 6a and the upcoming Pixel 7a. According to the purported alleged marketing materials, there would be a 6.1-inch full-HD+ display on the Pixel 7a with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The device will be powered by Google’s proprietary Tensor G2 SoC.

There would be a dual rear camera at the back of the Pixel 7a dominated by a 64MP primary wide sensor coupled with a 13MP ultrawide sensor. There could be a 13MP selfie camera at the front. Unlike the Pixel 6a, the Pixel 7a will support both fast wired charging as well as wireless charging.
