Petrol crosses Rs 100, diesel rises 70 paise after 80 paise hike in Delhi – Henry Club

After increasing the prices by 80 paise per liter and 70 paise in the case of diesel, petrol price crossed Rs 100 per liter on Tuesday, taking the total increase in rates to Rs 4.80 per liter in a week.

According to the price notification of state fuel retailers, the price of petrol in Delhi will now be Rs 100.21 per liter as against Rs 99.41, while the price of diesel has increased from Rs 90.77 per liter to Rs 91.47.

Rates have been increased across the country and vary from state to state based on local taxation events.

This is the seventh increase in prices since the end of a four-and-a-half-month-long hiatus in the rate revision on March 22. On the first four occasions, prices were increased by 80 paise per liter – the sharpest one-day increase so far. The daily price revision was introduced in June 2017. In subsequent days, the price of petrol increased by 50 paise and 30 paise per liter, while diesel increased by 55 paise and 35 paise per litre.

Overall, petrol and diesel prices have increased by Rs 4.80 per litre.
