Meteorological Director Surendra Pal told that between December 25 and 28, there is a possibility of snowfall in the higher reaches of Lahaul, Spiti, Kinnaur and Chamba, while on December 30 and 31, snowfall will also occur on the higher peaks of Shimla, Kullu, Mandi. Might be possible.

Yellow Alert of Sheetlahar

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for cold wave conditions in the plains and low-lying areas of the state till next 24 December. Along with this, a warning has been issued for dense fog in low altitude areas from morning to afternoon. This will reduce visibility to 50 metres. In such a situation, the drivers have been advised to be careful while driving.

Mercury reached around the freezing point

The minimum temperature of Kukumseri has dropped to minus 6.6 degree Celsius without rain and snowfall. Keylong’s minus 5.9 degrees, Kalpa’s minus 1 degree is the minimum temperature. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature of Mandi recorded the maximum drop of 2.9 degrees as compared to the normal.
