On Saturday, more than 70 thousand passengers of daily pass holders, general and long distance trains were troubled. Local commuters suffered the most as all MEMU trains to and from Surat remained partially cancelled.

Trains coming from Mumbai did not reach Surat
MEMU trains coming from Tapti line were stopped at Chalthan, while MEMU trains coming from Vapi and Mumbai side were stopped till Bhestan. On the other hand, MEMU trains coming from Bharuch and Vadodara came till Surat only. Due to this, 25,000 pass holders were daily up-downers, while about 20,000 passengers traveling with general tickets were troubled. These trains were delayed due to the block.

Due to this delay, a huge rush of passengers was seen at Surat station. The problems of the passengers are not over yet. Most Mail-Express trains will remain canceled on Sunday. Thousands of passengers will have to suffer because of this. Just before Holi, Western Railway has taken a big block for yard interlocking work at Udhna from 3rd to 6th March.

This will provide convenience to the passengers in future. 40 trains have been cancelled, same number of trains will be run through partially canceled trains and diverted routes. These days there was a huge crowd of passengers going to the village at the Surat railway station. Along with celebrating Holi in the village, people were also going to participate in marriages. On March 5 and 6, a large number of people were about to go to the village. His dream was shattered due to the cancellation of trains.

These major trains will be partially canceled
19034 Ahmedabad-Valsad Express leaving Bharuch on 5 March will be short terminated at Bharuch and will return as train number 19033 from Bharuch. Train No. 20908 Bhuj-Dadar Express leaving Ankleshwar on March 4 will be short terminated at Ankleshwar and will return as Train No. 20907 from Ankleshwar. Train No. 09156 Vadodara – Surat MEMU Special leaving Kosad on March 5 will be short terminated at Kosad and will return as Train No. 09155 from Kosad. Train No. 19106 Paldhi-Udhna Express scheduled to leave on 4th and 5th March, 2023 will remain partially canceled between Chalthan-Chalthan.

Apart from Express, all MEMU trains will also remain cancelled. There are 1500 seats in a train. If we consider the average fare of one seat as Rs 700, then it is Rs 3.67 crore. Online tickets will be automatically canceled and the amount will be credited to the bank account. Tickets at the counter will be canceled for the next 72 hours from the departure time of the train.
