CPM can become a hidden rustam due to workers returning home
The CPM, which ruled Bengal for 34 years, is ready to show its strength in this panchayat election. The CPM is a wake-up call for the BJP trying to strengthen its hold in the rural areas. Right now CPM has neither any MLA nor any MP from Bengal. But the picture has changed a lot in the last two years.

Political analyst says that due to the terror of Trinamool Congress in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the voters of the Left party who went to the BJP are returning. The victory of the Congress-CPM alliance candidate in the by-election held in March last on a seat in Murshidabad district is a big proof of this. The BJP is seen as a strong opposition in 10 districts of the state, while the CPM-Congress alliance is in 10 districts. The CPM is taking on the Trinamool in North and South 24 Parganas districts.
