Paduvarahalli Murder: 11 Get Life Term, 18 Men Acquitted | Mysuru News – Times of India

MYSURU: A district court on Monday convicted and sentenced 11 accused to life imprisonment and acquitted 18 others, including an ex-corporator, in the sensational 2016 Paduvarahalli murder case.
Delivering the verdict, Justice ML Raghunath of the principal district and sessions court imposed a fine of Rs 32,000 on each of those convicted in the case. Devendra alias Devu, 34, was hacked to death allegedly by an armed gang near his residence in Paduvarahalli (Vinayakanagar) in the city on May 5, 2016.
According to police, 29 persons, including former corporator C Madesha and brother Lesswere booked in the case. Stringent sections of the Karnataka Control of Organized Crimes Act were invoked as some of the accused were inside the prison when Devu was murdered.
