Over 1,000 Covid Cases Make Fresh Peak After May 2021 | Vadodara News – Times of India

Vadodara: Covid-19 cases registered in the city and district made a fresh peak on Thursday with 1,047 new cases being registered in the city and district.
The previous highest number of 989 cases was registered on May 7 last year in the city and district.
With Covid cases rising at a rapid spread, experts fear escalation of infection would surpass the numbers one saw in the second wave.
The 1,047 cases were found from 11,099 tests conducted in the 24 hours ending on Thursday evening.
The new cases included 253 from the west zone of the city, 236 from the south zone, 231 from the north zone and 230 from the east zone. The areas of the district outside city limits registered 97 new cases.
The total number of Covid cases detected in the city and district now stands at 77,384, of which 73,224 persons have been discharged. Official data states that 623 persons were discharged.
The number of active cases now stands at 3,527 out of which 3,367 are in home isolation. Of the 170 hospitalised patients, 12 are on ventilators or BIPAP machines and 18 are in ICUs without the need of ventilation machines.
As many as 69 persons need oxygen suport in non-ICU beds while the remaining 71 patients are with mild symptoms.
